Bottle of red wine from a Spanish Trappist abbey in Carcastillo.
Cistercian monks have been making wine for over 900 years in La Oliva, located in Carcastillo, a small village in southern Navarre. Today it is the only monastery in Spain where the monks own the winery and produce their own wine.
Wine for the Refectory is a wine made with Garnacha, indigenous to the area. It comes from their youngest vineyards of this variety. The wine has 6 months of aging in used French oak barrels.
It is a very fresh wine with a fruity marked character, a pleasant sweetness on the palate and is drinkable.
Available in bottles of 75cl.
